An equimolecularmixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide is mixed with the stoichiometric quantity of air in a closed, insulated vessel. The total pressure of the mixture is 5 atmospheres and the temperature is 25°C. The mixture is ignited by a spark plug. The oxidation of the reactants is assumed complete. Assuming all the gases are ideal, estimate (a) the maximum temperature and (b) the pressure that might be expected.
